Description: Garden Design

Date: December 2011

This London terrace garden was run down and had a large tree at its centre, which produced too much shade for grass to grow around it. With the aim to be able to use the garden as an entertaining space the whole year round, the solution was to choose artificial grass - which you will be surprised to know is brilliantly realistic!

The use of colourful perennial planting in pots brings life to the garden, whilst allowing for the look to be changed at a whim. A large planting bed at the back of the garden is a more permanent seasonal interest.

The BBQ has been hidden inside a store which doubles as a food/ drinks table, and a seating bench has been incorporated into the raised bed. Smart furniture was chosen for more formal dining occasions, situated on a new sawn natural stone terrace next to the house.
