About Beccle Design

The practice was set up in 2011 by Rebecca Zanelli, who has a background in fine art, plant sciences and landscape architecture. Since a young age Rebecca has had a passion for plants and painting, both of which are now important influences in her work as a landscape architect and garden designer. Having completed a Masters degree in Landscape Design at the University of Sheffield, she has worked as a landscape architect for 6 years, and is now a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute.

Through her work, Rebecca has gained experience in both garden design and commercial design projects. Before deciding to set up Beccle Design, Rebecca was employed by design practices including the well known plantsman Dan Pearson and ‘The Landscape Man’ Matthew Wilson, and has gained experience working for a wide range of clients, in both the private and public sectors.

While a strong interest in plants does influence Rebecca’s design work, it is the creation of sustainable, beautiful and sensitive outdoor spaces that drives her. Designs need to be harmonious, with hard and soft landscaping working together to reflect and enhance their surroundings and to serve their intended purpose. Materials sourced from the local area as well as quality plants, as part of a cost effective solution, are important elements of a finished design.
