Description: Garden Design

Date: March 2012

From the rooms of the house itself the garden is an impressive and attractive feature, with views across a large lawn to mature trees and hedges which create a dense boundary. The garden design was commissioned to tie in with a proposed extension to the property, with the desire to make the outside spaces more accessible from the house, for everyday use.

The kitchen will be made larger, with direct access to an improved pool area, while a new relaxation room will replace the existing outhouse. The design aims to create specific areas of use directly around the house, while retaining the long views of the garden and trees beyond. An enclosed garden is viewed from the dining and lounge areas of the house, while an outdoor dining and pool area is for direct use from the kitchen and relaxation room.

A flower border leads out to the lawn, with a new orchard, nuttery and meadow area creating destinations around the garden. The woodland is improved with groundcover planting, climbing hydrangeas and hidden sculptures, while a new productive area provides for the need to nurture new plants for the garden and vegetables and fruit for the house.
